“Today we learned that RA Cassation Court has overturned the ruling of RA Administrative Court that dismissed the Teghout Support Group claim,” said Arpine Galfayan, the Director of Institute for Democracy and Human Rights in Teghout on 14 November.
The NGOs have brought an action to RA Cassation Court, as RA Administrative Court dismissed their claim were the environmentalists requires to recognize illegal two positive opinions given by State Environmental Expert Committee of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA, i.e. the government decision on Teghout deposit development, as well as the license issued to «Аrmenian Cooper Program» (AСР) (that belongs to Vallex Group) for Teghout deposit development.
In reply to Arpine Galfayan’s announcement, Vahram Avagyan, the Assistant to the President of Vallex Group, noted, “When RA Administrative Court dismissed the case, we didn’t celebrate it.” In Vahram Avagyan’s opinion, this is a legal field where abstract legal charges are required to be more specified, i.e. which action violated which paragraph of the article. We are sure that in this legal debate the insolvency of charges will be revealed,” made sure the representative of Vallex Group.
Arpine Galfayan addressed the main charge not to Vallex Group, but the Armenian Government. “We are the citizens of this country and we should require our state to implement such programs that derive from the citizens’ interests. We should raise our voices and demand the government to ensure respectable work for us,” she said.
