“The information in the written answer given by K. Papoyan, acting Head of State Environmental Inspection of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA, dated on 12.01.2010, number 032/02 doesn’t comply with reality. We have got the impression that the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA State Environmental Inspection protect not nature from the company, but vice versa,” says the letter dispatched by “For Ensuring Ecological Safety and Developing Democracy” NGO to the Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan (dated on 04.03.2010).

The organization is willing to substantiate what it said with documentation and makes sure that the State Environmental Inspection, in its turn, cannot substantiate the results of the examination conducted for Deno Gold Mining Company operation dated on 18.11.2009 with proving documentation.

Particularly, we speak about the dumps that the company locates in the administrative territory of Kapan Town, and not in its own territory.

As a proof, “For Ensuring Ecological Safety and Developing Democracy” has attached to the letter a map which shows the locations of dumps together with other documentation, particularly, correspondence with the Ministry and State Environmental Inspection. The NGO informs the Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan that the company “doesn’t spare any efforts in order to obtain these territories from the community”.
