In summer season rest areas turn into a real landfill. According to established customs, people head for nature with food reserves and after leaving they leave a gift for nature in the form of garbage. You can find bottles, plastic bags, bits and remainder of food and even untidy tablecloths neat hot springs of Hanqavan. This phenomenon is so usual for us that people sit near the garbage and swallow barbecue with pleasure (see EcoLur Photo report dated on 30 August).
Artavazd villagers from Kotayk Region informed EcoLur they burn down their garbage as there is no landfill. If you wish, you can find a clean place in Kotayk. In Meghradzor you can find summerhouses and have to pay 5000 AMD for your pastime. (See photos)
Nobody bears responsibility for polluting nature and collecting money. No control is exercised: both pollution and illegal business are prospering.
