The forester of Stepanavan Forestry Hovik Zalinyan arranged illegal forest cutting and paid the workers 5000 AMD each. As a result of this action, 337 trees have been cut down, including pine trees, oak trees, hornbeams etc. The damage caused to nature made up 19,515,500 AMD. -

The residents in Alaverdi Town are covered with 25 thousand tons of sulphuric anhydrite per year. Moreover, besides sulphuric anhydrite, the emissions contain 38,6 tons of a wide range of metals, mostly copper and lead. In practice, the whole town is in the first zone under the impact of the emissions by the Copper Molybdenum Combine in Alaverdi where the concentration of emissions can exceed the permissible limit by 30 times. -
