The second court hearing of the case Jermuk residents and environmentalists vs RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan took place on February 17 in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan.

The 15 plaintiffs in the case are demanding the court to oblige Deputy Prime Minister to refute the statement made in Tbilisi on 22 October 2019 that the citizens fighting Amulsar gold mine are financed by mining businessmen.

During the court hearing, the plaintiff filed a motion to invite Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan to court.

"The main problem is that in today's society, the comments are mainly directed at the plaintiffs on the social platform, because today the main people fighting against Amulsar mining, not all of them, are the plaintiffs themselves.”

The next hearing in this case is scheduled for February 28 at 3:00 pm.
