Hunting season is launching starting from 25 August. On August 9 Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan ordered to allow the amateur hunting of the following species:
- quail- up to 35,000 pieces from 25 August 2012 to 31 October 2012
- pigeons (rock doves, common wood pigeons and turtledoves) up to 9,500 pieces, from 25 August 2012 to 31 January 2013
- chukar partridge up to 1,500 pieces, from 01 November 2012 to 31 December 2012
- yellowlegs (except for red-listed) up to 1,500 pieces , from 25 August 2012 to 31 October 2012
- Larks (eurasian skylark, bimaculated lark) up to 1,500 pieces , from 25 August 2012 to 31 October 2012
- Common starling up to 1,500 pieces, from 25 August 2012 to 31 October 2012
- Eurasian Blackbird and Fieldfare up to 1,500 pieces, from 25 August 2012 to 31 December 2012
- waterfowl - ducks (mallard, common pochard, common teals and garganeys) and water rails (common moorhens), up to 7000 pieces, from 15 September to 28 February 2013
- carrion crow up to 2000 pieces, from 25 August 2012 to 28 February 2013
- magpie up to 2000 pieces, from 25 August 2012 to 28 February 2013
- wild pig up to 10 pieces, from 01 November 2012 to 28 February 2013
- hare up to 300 pieces, from 01 November 2012 to 31 January 2013
- fox up to 300 pieces, from 01 November 2012 to 31 January 2013
- wolf up to 100 pieces from 25 August 2012 to 28 February 2013
- jackal up to 200 pieces from 25 August 2012 to 28 February 2013
According to the official website of Nature Protection Ministry, the control of order enforcement will be implemented by Minister Aram Harutyunyan.
