“Varat” LLC intends to develop Yerevan mine of gypsiferous clay. The project submitted for the opinion of the environmental expertise says that dust and other toxic substances such as СО, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, soot, and sulfur dioxide gas in the concentration of 0.5235 mg/sec /cubic meter will be emitted into atmosphere. Besides, there will be industrial wastes. The wastes of processed oils will make up 6 tons per year.  The volume of the dust, which is one of the main threats for urban ecology, makes up 0.861 gr/year. The project says that the company intends to reduce risks due to watering. The question is where to take water from if Yerevan experiences water problems in this area, and the company hasn’t mentioned even irrigation expenses.
