“Save Yerevan” newly founded initiative has called the opposition forces to form “For Saving Yerevan” platform as a political platform for joint participation in the elections for Yerevan Aldermen’s Council in 2013. “Pressure on the authorities is an important factor, if we leave on their discretion, we will whatever we have now,” said “Save Yerevan” civic initiative member Isabella Sargsyan at the press conference held on 25 April. He mentioned that measures are taken to cooperate with “Barev Yerevan” Alliance, ANC, ARF and Prosperous Armenia Parties.

At the press conference the initiative presented “Extraordinary Regime of Yerevan Rescue”, which particularly says, “We would like to record that all previous attempts to stop Yerevan destruction and to rescue Yerevan had insufficient results: All the international agreement ratified by Armenia, which currently in force, can’t prevent the destruction of historical Yerevan and distorting of the identity, gross violation of elementary and essential rules of urban development, thus disturbing the natural operation of the capital. The state of Yerevan urban development had made the Armenian people fed up and demand from the current authorities to take urgent and unprecedented actions to change the situation.”
