Armenia Ratified Parlis Cimate Change Agreement


At its session held on 9 February 2017 the National Assembly reached a unanimous decision (93 votes for) to ratify Paris Climate Agreement, as the official website of RA Nature Protection Ministry informs.

Reminder: on 12 December 2015 the world leaders adopted a new agreement on climate change in Paris, which decided to leash the increase in global average atmosphere temperature within the range of 2 degrees Celsius over pre-industrial period (1850) simultaneously striving for 1.5 degrees Celsius.

In its INDC Armenia has committed to limit greenhouse gas emissions within the ranges of 633 million tons in 35 years.
