In the frames of the UNDP, old street lamps in 19 communities in Armenia have been replaced with the lamps of high efficiency, LED lamps as UNDP Climate Change Programme Coordinator Diana Harutyunyan said at the closure of 'Green Street Lighting' project according to the Armenpress.
In the frames of the project, around 59-kilometer-long street lighting has been modernized in 18 communities, a total of 2990 lamps have been installed which annually ensure savings of 1986 MWph electricity or 89 million AMD and reduction of around 100 tons of carbon dioxide. Installed LED systems have ensured around 60% of efficient and up to 80% in individual cases. The installed new technologies are quite expensive ones.
