Twenty NGOs from Gegharkounik region have applied to the Speaker of National Assembly of Armenia. “…In recent years the level of Lake Sevan has increased more than it’s expected, which is due to nature. It should be noted that Arpa-Sevan tunnel hasn’t been operating for more than 2 years. There are no guarantees that upcoming years won’t be arid, and the lake level won’t get lower again. Sevan is the largest reserve of drinking water in the while Caucasian region, and we don’t have any right to waste this heavenly gift, which can turn into recue and prosperity for our entire nation. We do hop that the newly-elected parliament won’t start its activities with adopting such laws which violate public interests and won’t record unserious and partial attitude to the strategic priority of the country – Lake Sevan.”
