On March 10, 2020, during "Yes" campaign of the constitutional referendum in Qajaran Town, Syunik Region, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had posed three conditions before German owners of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine.
"First, I said that the mining industry in Armenia, and in particular the copper and molybdenum plant, should work with the same standards as it would work in Germany.
Secondly, I said, I expect that you will develop a specific strategy on what will happen in the next five years, what will change in the next five years, when we will reach the German international standard.
And third, I said that we will experience a very serious problem if I ever know that the administration of the factory hinders the free expression of the factory workers for any political purpose,” Nikol Pashinyan stated.
