From now on, nine companies operating in Armenia will be inspected by the Environmental and Mining Inspection once every 6 months. These companies are as follows:
“At-Metals” LLC developing Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Mine and having a soil management permit of Meghradzor Gold Mine, “Meghradzor Gold” LLC having a soil management permit of Meghradzor Gold Mine, “Litchqvaz” CJSC having a soil management permit of Litchqvaz-Tey Gold Mine, Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine CJSC developing Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Mine and “Chaarat Kapan” CJSC developing Shahumyan Gold-polymetallic mine, “Teghout” CJSC developing Teghout Copper and Molybdenum Mine, GeoProMining Gold LLC operating Sotq Gold Mine, Akhtala Ore Processing Plant CJSC operating Shamlugh Copper Mine, Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum CJSC operating Qajaran copper and molybdenum mine.
By the way, Zangezur Combine is the only one among these soil managers that can be inspected once every 6 months by Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection (UDTFSI). The UDTFSI was given the right to inspect another 31 organizations operating in different fields every 6 months.
The Executive approved the list of organizations to be inspected by the inspectors on January 23, amending Government Decree No. 1925-N dated on December 29, 2011. Thus, the new decision will inspect a total of 40 organizations instead of the former 18. According to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the business entities whose activities are of vital importance for the public and the state, or whose activities are riskier in terms of harm to human health and the environment, will be inspected.
