Armenia Exports Raw Materials to International Markets 4 Items out of 12 Main Raw Materials
Tert.am electronic journal with a reference to vestifinance.ru published a list of 12 main raw materials, which play a significant role in global economy. In accordance with the data of Morgan Stanley experts, the list includes petroleum, natural gas, aluminum, copper, nickel, zinc, gold and silver, platinum, as well as cotton, sugar and wheat.
Four names in this list are raw materials, which are exported from Armenia in industrial volumes – copper, zinc, gold and silver. The list doesn’t include such strategically important products as molybdenum, vanadium, selenium, which are also mined and exported from Armenia. Experts call copper as “chief industrial metal”. Increase in copper prices is ensured with problems of market supply.
In this regard, all the statements made by our government that if they have toughened taxation policy in mining sector, they will scare away the investors, don’t mean anything. Investors can be scared away only due to excessive greediness of top officials, who issue permits, which they compensate with the absence of taxation.
