CEE Bankwatch international network published the report by Robert Moran, independent expert, Dr. in Technical Sciences (Colorado, USA) on the impact of Kumtor gold mine in Kyrgyzstan on the water resources and environment. Canadian Centerra Gold Company develops this mine with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. “If the company attempted to operate in this way in Canada, this would be considered a gross violation of the legislation,” the report says.
