Armenian Environmental Front
On 13 June, Armenian Environmental Front Civic Initiative sent an official inquiry to Minister for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Arthur Grigoryan:
'At the beginning of January 2018, 'Teghout' CJSC has stopped the development of Teghout mine, nevertheless, the Ministry headed by Ex Minister didn't disseminate any official statement in regard with this problem. Moreover, our previous inquiry showed that the ministry hadn't even made any writing warning to the company. According to Article 30 (2) of RA Code on Subsoil, the Ministry has all the grounds and authorities to issue a written warning to 'Teghout' CJSC, nevertheless, it hasn't been done because of unclear reasons. Taking the aforementioned into account, we would like to ask to answer the following questions and to provide the following information to us.'
1. Whether 'Teghout' CJSC has submitted any document to your ministry on the cessation of the activities of 'Teghout' CJSC?
2. If yes, please provide the copies of these documents.
3. Has the ministry studied the grounds of the termination of the loaning agreement and the withdrawal of the loan in the amount of US $ 62 million provided via VTB Bank to Teghout Copper and Molybdenum Mine by Dutch pension fund, Pension Danmark, and EKF, Denmark’s Export Credit Agency? If yes, please, provide the results of these studies.'
