Kavart Dead Pit: Time Bomb

Kavart dead pit is one of the environmental hazards jeopardizing Kapan Town and other adjacent settlements, the water of which rich in heavy metals get mixed with surface and ground waters in different ways thus turning into time bomb for environment and people. Who owns this dead pit? Who must reclaim it? Where are the competent governmental bodies in charge of mining? These are questions to be addressed to the relevant ministries and urgent measures shall be taken to eliminate this disastrous situation. After Armenia became independent, its mining was stopped, and after the privatization of Kapan Ore Dressing Combine its new owner - Canadian Deno Gold Mining Company (currently Dundee Precious Metals) resumed the development of Kavart open pit.
