RA Nature Protection Ministry is not a respondent on Amulsar case any linger, as Judge Karen Zarikyan said at the court hearing on Amulsar project held today. 'The Nature Protection Ministry is not a respondent in this case any longer, as the trial of the claim on their part, i.e. to annul the opinion of the environmental expertise, has been rejected,' Judge Karen Zarikyan said.
At this court hearing, the court discussed two questions – the first was on the competence of NGOs to take part in the court proceedings, while the second matter was on the opinions lodged by the independent experts.
The plaintiff presented WWF Armenia Director Karen Manvelyan's opinion on Amulsar project. Judge Karen Zarikyan mentioned that the grounds of the claim shall be submitted in line with the professional opinions and gave two weeks time to submit a claim and to send it to the respondent. The same time period was allocated to the respondent to present their position.
The next court hearing on Amulsar case is appointed at 11:00 on 2 June (Courtroom 333).
