In the frames of the demonstration organized against “ACP” Company “Teghout Support” civic initiative filed a report on illegal mine development to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The activists accuse the company of illegal development of Teghout copper and molybdenum mine and as proof they present the outcomes of the studies carried out by «Environmental Resource Management» ERM.
“ACP” Company has made an order to this organization to carry out the re-assessment of project documents drawn up for Teghout mine development. As “Teghout Support” civic initiative Arthur Grigoryan told demonstration participants, “As of today, the project (Teghout copper and molybdenum mine development project) is carried out without any expertise and illegally. In this regard, there are two properties of crime available here. First, state bodies haven’t fulfilled their obligations to find out how mine is developed and the activities of these bodies contain properties of official negligence and corruption, and secondly, the representatives of mining company - the leaders who had to submit this project for expertise, hadn’t submitted it and carries out business activities without submitting, which is also a crime, as it causes essential damage to the Republic of Armenia and community residents. We will follow up for law-enforcement bodies to carry out proper investigation to detect this crime to bring those guilty to justice.”
Reminder: The statement of “Vallex” Group Company, which includes “ACP” Company says in the statement it circulated that Teghout project has undergone all the expert assessments as prescribed by law.
