'Armenian Nuclear Power Plant' CJSC Wanna Gent Hazardous Waste Recycling License

'Armenian Nuclear Power Plant' CJSC has applied to the Armenian Government to get a license on the recycling, neutralization, preservation, transportation and installation of hazardous wastes. In this regard on 14 January 2014 the Nature Protection Ministry displayed on its official website for stakeholders the draft resolution of the Armenian Government on 'On granting 'Armenian Nuclear Power Plant' CJSC a license on the recycling, neutralization, preservation, transportation and installation of hazardous wastes'.  If the Government adopts the resolution, 'Armenian Nuclear Power Plant' CJSC will provide the license to the Nature Protection Ministry, while Health Ministry and Ministry of Emergency States will supervise the works to be performed.

It should be mentioned that the interim expenditure program of Energy and Natural Resources Ministry for 2014-2016 says, 'adioactive Waste Neutralization CSJC will implement as follows: the radioactive wastes will be transported, examined, preserved, neutralized and buried in compliance with the nuclear and radiation standards and rules to protect people and environment from harmful impact of nuclear radiation. From 2014 to 2016, a total of 156,784,003 drams (approx. $382,245) is planned to be spent for the neutralization of the radioactive waste in Armenia.'
