Over 85 hectares of grassland have been burnt as a result of fires in the republic on January 13-15 2020. In particular: On January 13, at 4:40 pm, 911 informed reported that a grassy area on the right side of Norashen-Sarchapet highway was burning. About 60 hectares of grass have been burnt.
On January 14, National Center for Crisis Management of Ministry of Emergency Situations received 2 alarms on fires covering about 200 square meters and more in different grassland areas of the country. 25 hectares in Gugark Village of Lori Region and 500 square meters of grass in Aknaghbyur Village in Tavush Region have been burnt.
On January 14, at 9:58 pm, 911 Service informed that there was a fire place near Dilijan's forest-covered area. It turned out that the fire broke out in a section called "Arpavut" near Shamakhyan district. The area of the fire is about 3000 square meters of vegetation. Firefighting resumed on January 15 at 07:00. The fire was extinguished at 10:08 p.m, as Ministry of Emergency Situations informs.
