Additional 35 Million Cubic Meter Water to Be Taken from Sevan from 21 July to 4 August
The official website of the Armenian Government informs that the Armenian Government has made an amendment in decision no. 518-A “On Water Outlets from Lake Sevan 2012 for Irrigation Purposes” by setting up to 204.0 million square meters instead of 169.0 million square meters to ensure continuous irrigation of land areas supplied from Sevan-Hrazdan energy-irrigation system. The increase in water outlets by 35.0 million square meters is mainly conditioned by the decrease in natural flows of Hrazdan River and rise in water demand by water users. Additional 25.0 million square meters is planned to take from lake from 21 July to August 2.
As of 18 July 2012, already 162.3 million square meters of water have been let out of Lake Sevan.
