The Ararat Valley may experience problems with water because of Turkey. As the Chairman of Scientific-Expert Committee on Lake Sevan Preservation Vladimir Movsisyan noted, a reservoir is constructed in Turkey with a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters on the Araks River. Already 88 million cubic meters from the Araks River is kept in the existing reservoirs. “1.5 billion out of 2.2 billion cubic meters will be taken, the government has set up an ad hoc committee. We should draw up a decision, which should resist to this,” Vladimir Movsisyan said.
