A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. The Armenian Premiere assigned Nature Protection, Agriculture, Territorial Administration and Development Ministers to continue the process of providing free-of-charge fallen deadwood to the near-forest community residents giving priority to socially vulnerable groups at the same time ensuring the transparency of this process. The assignment was to jointly discuss and submit the reviewed and optimum volumes of legal timber storage to the staff of the government within 10 days.
“Taking into consideration the real volumes of the market and assessing the shadow we should make reforms in “ArmForest” and legalize tree felling logically and direct financial funds to “ArmForest” so as to be armed and to exercise strict supervision with necessary tools,” the Premiere outlined.
