The fire in Vayots Dzor has already been isolated and there is no hazard of its spread, as the Ministry of Emergency States informed.
According to this source, firefighting efforts in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province have resumed Tuesday, as of 9:21am. The fire was isolated at 10:05am. As of 08:50 on 14 August, around 450-500 ha of grass-covered area has burnt down, out of which 240 ha is forest-covered area.
According to the official press release of ‘ArmForest’ SNCO, the fire caused huge damage to the forest biodiversity of ‘Vanadzor Forestry Enterprise’ branch. Many oak trees, ash trees, maple trees, bushes of special significance and valuable bushes of juniper have burnt down.
Reminder: this major fire had started on August 10 at around 7pm, in the grass and forest area nearby Artavan village.
