As of today, the level of Lake Sevan makes up 1900,36 m above sea level. Representative of Nature Protection Ministry Ashot Avalyan stated at the press conference that Nature Protection Ministry plans to raise the level of lake up to 1903.5 m. Under him, the littoral territory makes up 144,000 ha, out of which 22,000 ha are beaches, and 4,300 ha are rest zones. He noted that in 2008 the government made a decision that the owners can use 80% of beaches, both public and private ones, at their own discretion.
