On 27 September Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed decrees on appointing 11 ministers. Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan, Ministry of Emergency States Armen Yeritsyan, Employment and Social Issues Minister Artem Asatryan, Education and Science Minister Levon Mkrtchyan and David Loqyan as Territorial Development Minister were reappointed in their offices.
Artsvik Minasyan is appointed as Nature Protection Minister, who used to hold the office of Economics Minister.
Suren Karayan is appointed Economics Minister, who used to be Deputy Finance and Economics Minister from 2006 to 2008, First Deputy Finance Minister from 2008 to 2015 and First Deputy Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Minister from 2015 to 2016.
Levon Altunyan is appointed as Health Minister, who has been CEO of “Ingo Armenia” Insurance Company.
Hrachya Rostomyan is appointed as Minister on Youth and Sport, who replaced Gabriel Ghazaryan in this office. From 2013 to 2016 he was the chief secretary of Armenian National Olympic Committee.
Armen Amiryan replaced Hasmik Poghosyan as Culture Minister. Armen Amiryan has led “National Radio of Armenia” SNCO for many years. He was a member of Public TV Board from 2015 to 2016.
It should be mentioned that with his decrees dated on 20 September Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan reappointed Vache Gabrielyan as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister on International Economic Integration and Reforms and David Harutyunyan as Minister-Head of Government Staff.
Vardan Aramyan is appointed as Finance Ministr, who replaced Gagik Khachatryan in this position. Vardan Aramyan was Deputy Finance Minister from 2008 to 2013 and First Deputy of Staff Head of Armenian President from 2013 to 2016.
Vahan Martirosyan is appointed as Minister for Transportation and Communications, who replaced Gagik Beglaryan. Vahan Martirosyan was the Chairman of Board of Directors of “GNC-Alpha” CJSC.
Ignaty Araqelyan is appointd as Agriculture Minister replacing Sergo Karapetyan, so far he has been the CEO of Yerevan Brandy Factory.
Ashot Manukyan is appointed as Energy and Natural Resources Minister, who replaced Levon Yolyan. So far he has been the CEO of “Energo Invest Holding”. The Defense and Foreign Affairs Ministers’ offices are still vacant.
