The government having formed from governing coalition forces such the Republican Party of Armenia, the Prosperous Party of Armenia and OEK hasn’t solved any environmental problem in Armavir Region proved by “The 2012 Working Plan of implementing socio-economic development plan in Armavir region for 2011-2014.” Under this document, 7,500,000 AMD is necessary for the regulation of the environmental issues in Armavir region, 6 million AMD is necessary for the desalination of 5000 ha of saline – alkaline land areas, 1.5 million AMD is necessary for the recovery works in the territory of previous sand pits in 2000 ha of Araks subzone and for developing fish farming on this basis. Nevertheless, no funds have been allocated for this purpose either from the state budget or other sources so far.
It should be mentioned that the land areas of 13 communities in Armavir region have been salinated and the residents are not able to cultivate the land.
