The communities of Geghrakounik region located near the littoral area of Lake Sevan, started collecting signatures against the governmental proposal to increase water outlets from Lake Sevan. Reminder: on 25 June the government approved a package of documentation on making amendments in the Armenian legislation, which limits water outlets from Lake Sevan up to 170 million cubic meters. This limit is conditioned with the necessity to increase lake level at least up to 1903,5 meters in order to recover natural balance and to stop waterlogging process in the lake. Local NGOs have already raised an alarm signal and are having meetings with community residents.
