The pilot program on recovering the population of endemic fish species in Sevan was discussed in Gavar Aarhus Center on 11 May. The project will be implemented by “Emmi Fruit” LLC. The stated objective is to make the number of endemic species in Lake Sevan up to 50,000 tons… In the course of the discussion it was noted that Article 10 (1) of RA Law “On Lake Sevan”, particularly a) subclause of the same article. It was also proposed to give approval of the project only when the company submits for the opinion of the experts of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, which is currently missing. The participants in Gavar also think that as Sevan is a priority for all Armenia, it is reasonable to hold public hearings not only in Sevan, but all also for all stakeholders in all regions.
