This year the public beaches will be open in the second middle of June, as Nature Protection Ministry Public Relations Department says. Under this source, during his visit to Gegharkuniq Region on 18 May the Minister visited the territory of public beaches, learnt the situation on the spot and gave assignments to the administration of “Sevan” National Park to follow improvement works.
Aram Harutyunyan also examined the cleaning process of Lake Sevan littoral areas and he assigned to accelerate cleaning works. “If needed, the ministry will interfere into the working processes and we are willing to support in cleaning areas in tighter deadlines,” the Minister mentioned. The company in charge of the works is obliged to report about the cleaning works every 15 days.
The cleaning of Lake Sevan littoral areas is implemented by the UNDP and state budget funds. According to “State complex program on the recovery, preservation, reproduction and natural development and usage of Lake Sevan ecosystem for 2013”, 12,540,000 AMD has been allocated from the state budget for the cleaning of Lake Sevan littoral areas.
