"ArmOil" Petroleum Processing Plant Production Suspended

The construction works of "ArmOil" Petroleum Processing Plant in Yeghvard Town, Kotayq Region, have been suspended, as Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body of RA Nature Protection Ministry informs.

Reminder: 'ArmOil' company has been carrying out the construction of a petroleum processing plant without undergoing any environmental impact expert assessment. Yeghvard town residents have beaten an alarm signal calling 'environmental disaster' whatever is happening.
'In regard to the alarm signals beaten by the residents of 'Nati' neighborhood, Yeghvard, we would like to inform that as a result of the measures taken in the frames of the initiated administrative proceedings, by the resolution of Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body Head № ՎԴ/02-Ա dated on 18.10.2017 'ArmOil' company has been obligated to suspend the construction of a petroleum processing plant until undergoing the environmental impact assessment and strategic assessment,' says the press release disseminated by Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body.

It should be mentioned that in line with RA Law 'On Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise' petroleum processing enterprise is subject to environmental impact assessment and is classified as most risky – 'A' category.
