“Help to stop this green massacre!!!” EcoLur has received an alarm signal from residents of 50th street, Erebuni Community, where the only children’s green playground is being converted into a spot for vulcanization and car wash. “It was the only place of rest both for us and our children, but in recent two years the park was seized, fenced, trees were cut down and swings taken out. All this has been carried out to build a vulcanization workshop. On the other side of the square is a car wash. Several days ago an intensive construction was launched between the car wash and vulcanization workshop. The trees there haven’t been cut down yet, but there are two trees in the territory of the construction, which will definitely be cut down. Behind the square an intensive construction is also in progress. You won’t see in any normal country that public territories designed for children are seized and turned into other facilities,” the letter of the residents says.
Based on this alarm signal, EcoLur asks Nature Protection Ministry to carry out inspections in children’s green playground at 50th street in Erebuni Community. At the same time, we would like to ask Yerevan Municipality to present the documents which ground the construction of objects in the public territory of children’s playground.
