Gndevaz villager, Vayots Dzor Region, has beaten an alarm signal to EcoLur in regard with the community sewage breakdown and the stink coming from Gndevaz poultry factory guano. 'The sewage line in the village doesn't works, in some sections it has spills out and the sewage flows across the streets, while the poultry factory takes out the guano and dumps outside,' Gndevaz villager complained. In his interview with EcoLur Gndevaz Community Head Hayrapet Mkrtchyan confirmed that the community experiences problems with the sewage, but it refers to one neighborhood. 'In one neighborhood there is a section where the sewage flows outside and then flows back into the pipes. We haven't rehabilitated it, as this year we don't have any funds allotted for that, but we will do it next spring,' Hayrapet Mkrtchyan said. What about the stink coming from Gndevaz poultry plant, Gndevaz Community Head mentioned there a spot allotted in the community where the guano is buried. When the guano is buried, the wind blows off the stink towards the community. We can't solve this issue, it's something natural,' Hayrapet Mkrtchayn said. A question remains open whether it's normal that the antisanitary and antiecological situation in Gndevaz is not solved and there is nobody who will bear responsibility for this situation. It's also unclear what inspections do in such cases. Anyway, this alarm signal is beaten not only by Gndevaz, but also by EcoLur.
