Meghri Twon, Syuniq Region, has started a signature collection against the geoprospecting of the mines. As the statement of the signature collection says Meghri residents’ position hadn’t been taken into consideration in the implementation process of mine geoprospecting. “Sustainable Development” NGO which has initiated the signature collection is going to present Meghri residents’ position to the Armenian Government and National Assembly.
As www.meghrinews.com website journalist Anna Ohanjanyan writes, “…the population has launched signature collection, but to tell the truth, people don’t people much in this civil process and they noted with anger that they were ready to take more certain and harsher measures.”
Reminder: recently Meghri residents have addressed an open letter to Armenian Serzh Sargsyan beating an alarm about the heavy consequences of mining in their area.
