18:45 January 23, 2012

Arthur Hovhannisyan, the Hayatsq

About 4.5 tons of medicine batches can be found under “elimination” customs regime in the customs warehouses and customs control zones, out of which most (4.27 tons, custom value – 34.9 million AMD) was imported within 2011 by two companies. The main batch of medicines (4.24 tons, customs value - 28.1 million AMD) was already expired at the moment of import, the rest was not registered in the Republic of Armenia. Under Government decision N 487 dated on 31 July 1999, the body regulating medicine elimination process is Nature Protection Ministry, who hasn’t so far authorized any body to conduct medicine elimination.
