The Asian Developmen Bank (ADB) wants to use the Armenian experience in the field of water also in other countries, as Responsible ADB Department Central and West Asia Department Yesim M. Elhan-Kayalar noted during his meeting with Vahe Hakobyan, newly appointed Chairman of the State Committee on Water Industry.
Which Armenian experience in the field of water does ADB want to use in other countries? EcoLur addressed this question to Areg Barseghyan, ADB Senior Investment Portfolio Management. In reply, he said, 'The use of state and private model, which works in Armenia in the field of water supply. We speak about this experience. The outcomes of this experience are quite good. We think we can share this experience with other countries. We have people from Nepal and Pakistan, who also want to make reforms in their countries. We are complaining of the quality of water supply in some parts of the country, but if we take the total criteria, the successes ad reforms made by Armenia, we will get sure they are good ones,' Areg Barseghyan said.
'It's knows that Armenia has 80% of water loss, how can we speak about good outcomes in this case?' EcoLur asked the ADB representative. 'Whatever we do, we will have this loss,' Areg Barseghyan said.
