On February 2 the Cassation Court of Armenia turned down to appeal the ruling issued by Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Region. The court sustained the lawsuit filed by Kapan residents who had demanded from Arm Water Sewage to perform their contractual obligations on discharging sewage and eliminating risks which threaten to the health and living of people. The lawsuit was supported by “For Ensuring Safety and Developing Democracy” NGO and OSI-Armenia. The court of general jurisdiction sustained the claim filed by Kapan residents. The court of general jurisdiction issued its ruling on 24 March 2011.
