Nature Protection Ministry Press Service informs NEWS.am , that both “Alrub” and “VTV Energy” LLCs are not entitled to construct a small HPP as they have been issued water use permits, but haven’t passed environmental expert assessment.

“Alrub” LLC has leased 1 ha of land area gor a term of 50 years from Shatin Village Municipality accrding to tge agreement of easements. In March 2010 Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan has issued a water use permit, while the Armenian Government has changed the land status with its proper decision by changing it to status of energy significance.
On 8 August 2011, “VTV Energy” LLC concluded agreements of easement for constructing a small HPP with municipalities of Shatin and Yeghegnis Villages. Still two weeks ago Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan issued “VTV Energy” LLC water use permit.
“This is just nonsense, the minister issued two water use permits for the same territory,” said “Alrub” LLC Founder Alik Abrahamyan.
