The Pan-Armenian Environmental Front is beating an alarm signal to Nature Protection Ministry about the disastrous situation in the Yeghegis River. The front has addressed a letter to Nature Protection Minister Aramayis Grigoryan, which says, 'The ecosystem of Yeghegis River basin is in the disastrous situation because of the construction of many SHPPs and uncontrollable operation. There are already 12 SHPPs operating, another 8 are planned to be constructed and developed. Several days ago we examined the area of 8 SHPPs operating on the Yeghegis River and we got convinced about the disastrous situation of the river. We would like to ask you to take measures to bring the companies operating SHPPs on the Yeghegis River to liability, as the environmental flow in the water intake station completely missed, while the fish passway was completely dry.'
