Water Pulse of Hrazdan Town in Disastrous Condition in 2011

EcoLur

The water pulse of Hrazdan Rown, administrative center of Kotayk Region, is in disastrous condition because of high concentration of chromium in the river. Under the annual report by “Environmental Impact Monitoring Center” SNCO for 2011, the average annual concentration of aluminum exceeded PC up to 4.2 times, copper – 4.0, manganese – 3.9, chromium - 7.0, vanadium – 8.0. Thus, the concentration of aluminum in the river made up 168 μg/l, copper - 40, manganese - 195, chromium – 350 and vanadium – 80 μg/l. The disastrous condition of the Hrazdan River has been detected with EcoLur’s Ecological Risk Model. Unlike water, the air in Hrazdan town is within standards according to the model.  Under the annual report by “Environmental Impact Monitoring Center” SNCO for 2012, the average annual concentration of dust exceeded MPC by 4.0 times, while non-recurring maximum concentration - up to 6.5 times. Thus, the concentration of dust in Hrazdan air made up 0. 6 mg/m3, the concentration of dust conditioned with universal criteria of most common pollution of atmospheric air affecting health made up 0.975 mg/m3.
