Construction of the petroleum processing plant by “ArmOil” Company in Yeghvard Town, Kotayq Region, having not undergone environmental impact assessment hasn’t been suspended.
As to Press Secretary of RA Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body Vruyr Pepanyan informed EcoLur, there aren’t grounds in writing for this action.

'Currently, we are waiting for the written response of ''Environmental Impact Expert Assessment' SNCO on whether or not such a project has undergone expert assessment, what kind of opinion has been issued and based on this response, we will perform our functions,' Vruyr Pepanyan said.
It should be mentioned that ''Environmental Impact Expert Assessment' SNCO informed EcoLur that “ArmOil” Company hasn't submitted any project for expert assessment.
According to Yeghvard Deputy Mayor Karen Harutyunyan, “ArmOil” Company's project has undergone urban development assessment, based on which Kotayq Regional Municipality has provided this construction permit.

'We have issued a construction permit, there is nothing about performing activities,' Karen Harutyunyan mentioned.

According to Karen Harutyunyan, currently, the company is constructing a fence in the plant area.

This company has been issued a right to soil management for the geological prospecting of petroleum and gas reserves in Armenia.
