On November 25, environmentalists and several residents of Jermuk filed a lawsuit against Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan demanding to refute the information that was considered as slander. According to the Judicial Information System, www.datalex.am, the case was assigned to Judge Daniel Mkheyan at Yerevan City Court of First Instance.
On October 22, RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan made a statement during his visit to Tbilisi, according to which: "... There are people directly connected with the mining businessmen in the Republic of Armenia who were investing considerable financial resources to make this (editor: organized (Amulsar) campaign”.
This statement was followed by letters from environmentalists and activists to Tigran Avinyan asking if he meant them in his statement. The 15 citizens who filed a lawsuit against the Deputy Prime Minister are Tehmineh Yenokyan, Ani Khachatryan, Arthur Grigoryan, Levon Galstyan, Arkady Grigoryan, Mihrdat Nersisyan, Gagik Grigoryan, Tehmine Hunanyan, Susanna Margaryan, Henry Harutyunyan, Asqanaz Hovhannisyan, Boris Khachatryan, Gor Ayvazyan, Anna Shahnazaryan and Milena Baghdasaryan.
