No criminal case will be initiated against Pan-Armenian Environmental Front member Levon Galstyan based on the complaint lodged by Lydian Armenia Company. As RA Police representative told EcoLur in her phone talk, the checks showed that no violation has been committed.
Reminder: on 15 September there was a phone call from the Central Division of Police to Levon Galstyan and told him that the employees of “Lydian Armenia” Company reported them that Levon Galstyan and his supporters addressed threats to the company.
Levon Galstyan informed EcoLur that the police mainly asked questions about the survey initiated on Facebook, where he asked what kind of measures were needed to stop Amulsar mining. Levon Galstyan mentioned three measures – “Active communication with locals (Jermuk, Gndevaz etc)”, “Protest demonstrations on the spot and Yerevan” and “Pressurizing International Investors”, while users added the others – “Protest demonstrations in US, Canada”, “Sabotage”, “Involvement of Nature Protection Ministry employees”, “Pressurizing Government, especially Nature Protection Ministry”. One of the users added “Kill one of company top management staff”, which 5 people voted for. No other threat was obvious in this action.
It should be mentioned that the Pan-Armenian Environmental Front stated that it will continue organizing different initiatives on the impermissibility of Amulsar project together with other non-indifferent organizations, specialists and individuals exclusively in the frames of international law and Armenian legislation and will act based on the principles of lawfulness, transparency, accountability and logic.
