The participants of the open discussion on Amulsar held in Jermuk on December 15 unanimously rejected the police request to clear the roads leading to Amulsar Gold Mine to clear the road leading to the mine so that Lydian Armenia Company owning the property in Amulsar can assess it. The participants agreed that Lydian Armenia should not be allowed to enter Amulsararea.
Jermuk resident Shirak Buniatyan, a member of Amulsar Without Mine Initiative, said: “According to our information, only equipment belonging to Lydian Armenia remains in the Amulsar area. Last year, winter works were carried out. And now we don't see any sense to launch new winter works." Buniatyan added that they came together today to hear everyone's opinion and make a joint decision. "Let the people here express their position, and let's see how the government views that position," he said.
