As “Development of Management Plan of “Dilijan” National Park for 2015-2019” document says, the trends of biodiversity development are not completely controlled because of improper operation of the monitoring system in “Dilijan” National Park, the impact of different pressures on the areas of the national park are not consistently assessed. Under this source, at present there are a number of issued still available despite certain progress, which significantly hinder the effective implementation of management processes.
Not controlling the trends of biodiversity development or non-assessment of the impact of the pressures on the Park are among these issues. Weak cooperation among the stakeholders and “Dilijan” SNCO staff is also a serious problem, as well as insufficient scientific studies, which would serve as a basis for decision-making on management. “Development of Management Plan of “Dilijan” National Park for 2015-2019” has been developed to solve these and other problems. Nature Protection Ministry is looking for a consultant to develop Park Management Plan, while the Caucasus Nature Fund is authorized to assist the process aimed at developing the reviewed management plan. The validity term of “Dilijan” National Park Management Plan was expired in 2011.
