Loir came out of the forest. Karine Harutyunyan sent to EcoLur photos from Chinchin Village, Tavush Region. In the village they saw an animal, sized 15 cm, and decided this is a chinchilla. We applied to the WWF Armenian office, where we were told that chinchillas don’t grow in Armenia and the animal depicted in the photo is a loir. We can meet the loir in Tavush Region, in forests and is fed with vegetation, till the first berries appear. The loirs lead a night life and are very reticent. It’s not clear what can make the loir appear before people.
