Crocodile Farm Won't Undergo Environmental Expert Assessment

A crocodile farm will be established in Dashtavan community in Ararat Region: Ararat Regional Head Gark Sargsyan spoke about the investment program of the crocodile farm and the entertainment center there in the course of the press conference dedicated to 100 days of holding office.

Under the regional head, 'Armot' LLC has already leased an area of 15 ha in Dashtavan, which will make an investment of US $ 1.5 million, while the volume of investments in the upcoming 5 years will make up the US $ 10 million. The Regional Head noted that the investor interested in the production of crocodile leather in Armenia is from Tanzania.

As EcoLur was informed by RA Nature Protection Ministry, the project won't undergo environmental impact assessment, as RA Law 'On Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise' doesn't envisage such type of activity.
