On 17 March www.syunikonline.am website published an article entitled “Slaughter of Wild Animals”, which showed poaching cadres with the photos of red-listed mufflon and bezoar goat. The information has been provided by Kapan Aarhus Environmental Center Coordinator Ashot Avagyan.

“These terrible cadres are, most probably, typical examples of poaching. Though the land areas are still being specified, according to Ashot Avagyan, the mufflon most probably was in “Zangezour” state reserve area, while the antelope was in “Arevik” National Park,” www.syunikonline.am says. According to Ashot Avagyan, the photos have been provided to Syunik Regional Inspection of Nature Protection Ministry and “Zangezour Biosphere Complex” SNCO.

The Information and Public Relations Department of Nature Protection Ministry informed EcoLur that Syunik Regional Inspection of Nature Protection Ministry and “Zangezour Biosphere Complex” SNCO had made a report to the law enforcement bodies to specify the location and fact depicted on the photos and to confirm the fact of poaching to calculate the damage caused to nature.
