“Khosrov Reserve” civic initiative doesn’t exclude that methods of pressure may be applied towards Norik Sargsyan, accused of the poaching in Khosrov reserve, to obtain required testimonies. The initiative has disseminated a statement, which particularly says, “... On 30 September the police stated that they had detected the crime committed in 'Khosrov Forest' Reserve for a short period of time. Under the information of the police, the poacher turned out to be Garni resident Norik Sargsyan... Several members of the civic initiative visited Norik Sargsyan's family in the evening of 30 September, as they had certain doubts in regard with the case being cleared. Both Norik and his family declared that Norik has no connection with the committed crime. Taking into consideration that N. Sargsyan is in serious psychological state, his mother and mother-in-law presented the situation. They said that N. Sargsyan was taken to the police and was interrogated without any lawyer, which is a gross violation of the law. There are no guarantees that pressure methods won't be applied towards Norik Sargsyan to get the required testimonies. At present (1 October) Norik Sargsyan is again at the police station and he demands to be provided with a lawyer,' the statement says.
